Vittel Double Bottle (1986)

Moulded plastic

H 28.5 × 8.5 × 8.5 cm

__

In 1986, French mineral water company Vittel invited seven international designers to imagine the “water bottle of the year 2000” for the exhibition “L’eau en formes – Vittel Design 86” at the CCI / Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

For his proposal, Gaetano Pesce designed this rare Vittel Double Bottle: two complementary plastic bottles that slide and are held together. The sculpted, rock-like form and icy texture evoke the mountain spring and the idea of water emerging from stone, turning a disposable industrial object into a small piece of experimental architecture.
